Hey everyone! It's been so long since I posted (though I continue to read everyone elses entries!) and I hope everyone is well.

First, thanks to everyone who helped me out with my queston about painting styrofoam. I opted to just use permanent markers. It was something I already had and it worked out great. I vended my first convention in October (which is why I was asking about styrofoam for my displays!) and it was a HUGE success for me. I've been slowly listing the leftovers on Etsy. Beneath the cut you'll find photos of the some of the items I made for the con. The leftovers, like I said, are on my Etsy and I'll have a link to that as well at the bottom.

Hi everyone!

Has anyone taken a Psycholinguistics class? I am planning on doing an independent study project with a graduate student and my Psycholinguistics professor next semester on Chinese psycholinguistics. I am wondering what sort of topic in the psycholinguistics of a language, such as Chinese would be most relevant and related to SLP. Not only do I want this to look good on my application to grad school, I also want to learn something that can help me learn more about research in SLP.

Hello! I am a 33 year old female who is changing her career. I received my BA in Education in 1998, Specialized in Language and Writing, gpa 3.6. I later went on to get my MBA in 2004, gpa 3.88. I have extensive volunteer work over the years, and have shadowed SLP's so I know what this career is about. However, I'm worried about my GRE scores....I got a 450 in verbal and a 390 in quantitative, so 840 total. The school I'm applying to (in Ohio) says on their website that 450 in each section is competitve, but they will consider people with lower scores who have a strong application package, which is what I feel I have. The school has 170-180 applicants and they accept 45 each year, and a handful of those students have not started their leveling classes yet. I'm not sure how many offers they have to extend to get 45, but I'm guessing 100 or so? I am just wondering what your thoughts are? Do I have a chance? I have to move close to the school to start my leveling classes (I need 6), and it's a big decision considering I won't know if I got in yet or not. If I don't have a good shot, I don't want to quit my job, move, and attempt this degree if I'm going to be turned away. Any advice?

 Hello! I was wondering if its possible to get letters of rec from professors you've only had online. I don't have any professors I can ask from undergrad, and will be taking Post-bach classes via Utah State. I don't think I can take random classes at a Community College because of my schedule, so I don't know what else to do!
